The New York Academy of Sciences Pre-College Leadership Institute Overview
The New York Academy of Sciences Pre-College Leadership Institute is a rigorous program for high school students with a passion for science. Over the course of 5 days, students will develop their own research agenda for and create a unique scientific project in a range of disciplines. Student groups will address real-world challenges within their own communities while developing valuable scientific and non-scientific skills—all under the guidance of real-life scientists. Students will learn how to think critically and in the context of today’s global scientific, economic and political context.
Students will receive a certification of completion at the end of the program and will be ready to implement their project in their community. Most importantly, students in the Leadership Institute will be empowered with the leadership, communication, and project planning tools to succeed in the sciences and beyond.
